A new friend and a healthy tummy

My goodness, the days pass so quickly and I haven't been good at keeping up with this blog.  I am happy to say that Stella's "intestinal discrepancies" have completely resolved thanks to the good Doctor "Uncle Hans" and a special diet.  I truly think she did eat something nasty that gave her a good case of colitis.  Anyway, it never did slow her down a bit and she continues to thrive and grow by leaps and bounds.

Last Sunday Stella made a new friend.  A co-worker of Kent's has a 2 years old Jack Russell named Buddy.  I am actually the reason he has the dog, as I rescued it from another situation and Chad was the one who stepped up and gave him a good home.   Chad  told Kent that Buddy loves other dogs so we thought that he and Stella would hit it right off.  Well, Buddy was more interested in scent marking every square inch of our back yard.  Stella meanwhile was happy to run after him following him everywhere trying to get his attention.  She is still so young and other dogs just don't seem to want to engage in her shenanigans.  Meanwhile Gordo was his usual unfriendly self and after snapping at Buddy a few times, wandered off to pout about an intruder in his domain.  I think if Buddy comes over a few more times they will all get to know each other and will eventually have some fun.  I tried all afternoon to get a good photo of Stella and Buddy together but they didn't stop moving for a second and it was a very frustrating experience. I will post one of them so you can see Buddy, the shaggiest JRT on the planet.  He is a real sweet dog; so cute and fun.

I haven't started any more training with Stella other than "Come" and "Sit".  I have put a leash on her a couple of times and she thinks it's a wonderful game of "Let's chew that thing in two!!"  I think she is still too young for leash training but it won't be long now.  We've had a major development in the house this week.  We have a pet door that she has figured out so it is now permanently locked.  The cats aren't going to be very happy but until Stella is older it is too much of a risk for her.  Our back yard is completely fenced but she is small enough to scoot under the gate and just curious enough about what's on the other side to do it!

My big news this week is that I have been promoted from Preliminary Dog Listener to Recommended Dog Listener by Jan Fennell based on the evaluation questionnaires she has received from my clients!  I am so happy and I will now have a link on her website www.janfennellthedoglistener.com.  Use the "1-2-1 Cunsultations" link and then go to "Dog Listener Associates-Worldwide".  It may take a while for it to appear as they just notified me yesterday of my new status.  I am honored and thrilled to be counted among this elite group of individuals who carry out this inspired work developed by Jan.
